Be the Light is a new poem I just wrote. Every day we hear on the news about school shootings, war, and crime. Everything seems so dark if we focus just on all the bad stuff around us.

However, Jesus tells us to Let our light shine in Matthew 5:14-16:

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Be The Light

Created by God
Filled with His love
Filled with His light
Hidden by shadows, thorns and trials
Weighed down by darkness
It seeks to smother the light
Not possible-
Just remember your Creator
Just remember your Savior
Be the light as he is in the light
Surrender to His voice
Surrender to His love
True unconditional love
Is the light
Don't fight the darkness
Shine a light and dispel the darkness
Be Jesus to a lost and dying world
