We all need to learn to lead. God calls us all to be kings and priests to our God. In fact, as it says in Revelation 5:10, we will also reign with Him.

Recently, I came across the following story in one of my devotions from Worthy Devotions. It was originally written by Steve Brown of Key Biscayne Florida.
As an example, I wanted to share it with you.
The Story of the Obedient King
In the eleventh century, King Henry III of Bavaria grew tired of court life and the pressures of being a monarch. He made application to Prior Richard at a local monastery, asking to be accepted as a contemplative and spend the rest of his life in the monastery.
“Your Majesty,” said Prior Richard, “do you understand that the pledge here is one of obedience? That will be hard because you have been a king.”
“I understand,” said Henry. “The rest of my life I will be obedient to you, as Christ leads you.”
“Then I will tell you what to do,” said Prior Richard. “Go back to your throne and serve faithfully in the place where God has put you.”
When King Henry died, a statement was written: “The King learned to rule by being obedient.”

Learning to Lead Means Obedience
If we are going to reign with Christ, then we need to get ourselves ready. One key element of this, is learning to obey. God wants us to be faithful with those things that He has blessed us with including our talents and gifts, finances, obedience to His Word, etc.
As we are faithful and obedient in the small things, He will open bigger doors and opportunities for us.
God planted us right where we are for a reason. So, let’s open our eyes to the opportunities that are all around us. Let’s take time to listen for His still small voice and let Him lead us.
Have an awesome week,
