I recently saw the movie Don’t look Back starring Kelly McGillis with my husband and it turned out to be an answer to prayer. One that I prayed earlier that day.
Don’t Look Back- The Movie
It is the inspirational story of a woman who buries her former life and forgets who God created her to be after a great loss. She then turns to greed and power until her life is suddenly thrown into chaos and she has to confront her past.
Dealing With Grief And Loss
When we have a great loss, whether it is a child, a parent, grandparent or something else, it’s easy to let bitterness and guilt take over. We blame God, ourselves and perhaps others. It will also affect our decisions and the life we are living one decision at a time.
If the decisions we make are based in guilt, blame, bitterness, or regret then we are going to be pretty miserable no matter how much money or things we may have. It will continue to grow until the root cause of the problem is dealt with.
However, when our decisions are based in love then the opposite is true.
Love- the First Fruit of the Spirit
Love is the first fruit of the spirit, check out my video “Unconditional Love”. After love, comes joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and self-control. Each one builds on the previous one but it all starts with love.
They are a gift from the Holy Spirit.
You can find the fruit of the spirit in Galatians chapter 5.
I was looking for a confirmation from God regarding my future and I received it while watching this movie.
Conclusion
If you don’t deal with the past, it’s hard to move into the wonderful future that God has planned for you. He has wonderful plans for your life, but it’s important to let Him work and let Him heal you.
