It’s sometimes hard to imagine how we can get through a particular difficult situation. Life can be very hard. But, “greater is He that is in you than He who is in the world”.
We Serve a Big God
Our God is bigger than anything we have to face and we don’t have to face it alone.
It says in 1 John,
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: BECAUSE GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN YOU, THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD.”
1 John 4:1-4 KJV
This section of scripture talks about testing the spirits to see if they are from God. There is evil in this world. We need only to turn on the evening news to see how much that is true.
However, God is greater than evil spirit. He is greater than any difficult situation or problem we might face. In Jesus we belong to God and we are overcomers.
We Are Overcomers
The singer Mandisa has a song out that is called Overcomer that I’ve listened to for years.
When I was feeling low and didn’t know how to get through a particular situation, I would listen to it and it would remind me not to give up and to hold on to God because He will never leave me nor forsake me.
I don’t have to rely on my own strength, but can trust in His because He already overcame the world.
Conclusion
So, we can take comfort that we are never alone. No matter what we are facing we can trust Him, because “Greater is He that is in you than He that is in the World.”
