He Will Never Leave You Nor Forsake You

He Will never leave you nor forsake you

God promises in His Word that “He will never leave you, nor forsake you.” As I continue this series from my guided prayer journal Discover Your True Identity: A 52 Week Guided Prayer Journal , I want to talk about our security in Christ. We can be secure and not fear because we are His children.

Recently, I’ve heard stories about kids, young girls especially, who take their sense of self-worth from Instagram and false images of beauty. There are all kinds of programs and apps out there that can manipulate photo’s and make you look like someone you aren’t.

God is Always With You

However, God loves you just as you are. He has promised that he would never leave you nor forsake you.

“Let your lives be without love of money, and be content with the things you have. For He has said: ‘I will never leave you, nor forsake you.’ So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?’”

Hebrews 13:5-6 MEV

First of all, God says to “Let your lives be without love of money, and be content with the things you have.”

YOU CAN BE CONTENT WITH WHAT YOU HAVE BECAUSE GOD IS ALWAYS WITH YOU.

No Security in Money

There is no security in money. It is a false security.

Your true security is in God. He is your helper.

Are you turning to God with your needs or trying to do things in your own strength?

Are you truly content with what you have or always wanting more?

The Apostle Paul said,

“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.”

Philippians 4:11NIV

Each Test is An Opportunity

Next, each test is an opportunity to show your faith in God.

We all have a choice as to how we will respond when we face various circumstances.

Will we act in faith? Or, will we start complaining and look to assign blame?

Jesus says in Matthew:

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Matthew 6:33 NIV

If we seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness first, He will provide for you everything you could possibly need.

He Will Never Leave You Nor Forsake You

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE AFRAID BECAUSE HE PROMISED THAT HE WOULD NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU.

What are you afraid of? What do you need to turn over to God?

You see,God never changes and he always right there waiting for you.

It says in Matthew,

“Come to all Me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28 MEV

God promises are true and if he said it, He will do it. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8) and he never changes so we trust His Word.

Moreover, He loves us perfectly and perfect loves casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).

Conclusion

Rest in God. Trust that He is waiting for you and that He will never leave you nor forsake you. There is no security in money or the things of this world. Our security rests solely in our Loving Creator who is totally trustworthy.
