Peace! Be Still!

peace be still

I just finished writing a new poem called “Peace! Be Still!” I don’t know about you, but the busier I get the harder it is to remember to do just that- Be still and listen for the voice of my Savior. He has all the answers to every problem I could ever have.

When I am worried about the latest coming storm, God reminds me that He is in control of each and every storm just like he was when he was on the boat with the disciples in the midst of a great storm.

“That same day, when the evening came, He said to them, “Let us go cross to the other side.”  When they had sent the crowd away, they took Him in the boat just as He was. There were also other little boats with Him.

A great wind storm arose, and the waves splashed into the boat, so that it was now filling the boat. He was in the stern asleep on a pillow. They woke Him and said, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” He rose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!”

Then the wind ceased and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is that you have no faith?” They feared greatly and said to one another, “What kind of Man is He, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”

Mark 4:35-41 MEV

Knowing that God is in control no matter how things may look, gives me great comfort. I don’t always have to understand, I just have to listen for His voice and trust because he is faithful and trustworthy.

Peace! Be Still!

Peace! Be still!
Listen for my voice
And you I will lead.
I will strengthen you
And hold you
And teach you my ways.
I'll never ever leave you
But will always love you.
You're my child, my bride,
My love is deep and wide.
Everlasting
Never ending
Eternally you are mine
In this world and the next,
I will give you rest
Peace, be still and Listen.

Conclusion

By taking the time to listen for his voice, we can have that same peace in the midst of every storm. He loves us more than we can ever fathom. So, just remember “Peace! Be Still!” and listen for the voice of your creator. Take a moment to rest in His strength and His love knowing that He will never you. He will always be there for you no matter what you may be facing.
