What Does God Say About Me In The Bible?

what does God say about me in the Bible?

Have you ever wondered “What does God Say about me in the Bible?” I know I have!

After having to deal with self-image issues my whole life because of listening to all the lies we not only tell ourselves but those we hear from family, friends, co-workers, and the rest of the world, it can be hard to silence all those lies.

What Lies Have You Believed?

Do any of these sound familiar?

  • “You’re not good enough.”
  • “You have to be perfect.”
  • “You’re too fat!”
  • “You’re grades aren’t good enough.”
  • “Don’t wear the right clothes.”
  • “You have to work harder.”
  • “You’re not pretty enough.”

The list goes on and on.

While the world looks at these external things such as performance, how we look, how much money we have, etc., God looks at who we are and who He created us to be.

Nothing can ever separate us from the love of God. We can’t earn it and we don’t deserve it. However, God loves us nonetheless because of who He is and who He created you to be.

So, here are a few things that God says about you in the Bible

What Does God Say About Me in the Bible?

You are saved

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV

You are loved

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:8

You are beautiful

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

Ephesians 2:10 NIV

You are not a mistake

You are a child of God

“Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Our identity as a child of God means that we rely fully on God and trust in His plan for our lives.”

1 John 3:2 NIV

You are chosen

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”

John 15:16

You are citizens of heaven

“But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.”

Philippians 3:20 NLT

God rejoices over you

“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”

Zephaniah 3:17

You are a prince or princess in God’s family

“And, I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

2 Corinthians 6:18

You have a purpose

These are only a few things that God says about you and me. His love is not conditional or based on how well we perform, how we look, etc. Instead, it is based on who He is and the fact that we are His creation.

It isn’t about what we do, but whose we are. It’s about what Jesus has done and continues to do in us. He simply wants to BE WITH us.

So next time you ask yourself “what does God say about me in the Bible?”, use this as a starting point. But, there are many more scriptures that speak to who God created us to be and our identity in Christ.
