Do you feel secure in your life? Do you know to feel secure with all that is going on the world today? Your true security is in Christ alone. It’s an eternal security in Jesus and our Father God who never changes.
How To Feel Secure
If you look to money or other people for your security, you will be sadly mistaken. If you look to anything else other than Jesus, you will be disappointed.
The things of this world are temporal and will disappear. Placing your faith and security in things like money or finances, other people, governments, etc. will not give you true security.
What happens when the bank crashes? Or, government leadership changes? Or when people let you down?
You have no ability to control any of these things.
The only true security is in God the Father and in Jesus.
If your security is in Christ, you will never be disappointed. You can feel secure in Him because He is eternal and He never changes.
My Story
Learning to feel secure in Christ alone and not looking to things of the world is sometimes a daily struggle. I know it is for me. However, the more I place my faith in God and hold on to His promises, the more I know I can trust Him.
It’s easy to let fear take hold with every problem, challenge or news event. All that leads to is a roller coaster of emotional ups and downs, depression, outbursts of anger and the like.
I used to let my emotions and security be determined by my success or failures, how much money I had in the bank or other people’s opinions even though I was a Christian.
It’s a process of renewing your mind and taking God at His Word. It’s a choice.
Security in Christ
Do you want to really know how to feel secure? Trust in Jesus. Trust in God. He will never let you down. When your security is in Christ, you won’t be swayed by the daily struggles and frustrations. You won’t be swayed by the news or what happens in the world.
When Peter kept His eyes on Jesus, He was able to walk on water. However, the moment He took his eyes off of Jesus, He sank.
The same is true for us. As we keep our hearts and minds focused on God and on His Word, we can feel secure. He will never let us down.
Oh things don’t always work out like we expect them to. But, He will never leave you, nor forsake you.
Feel Secure With These Scriptures
Here are 10 Scriptures about our security in Christ.
- “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life. They shall never perish, nor shall anyone snatch them from My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them from My Father’s hand.” John 10: 27-29
- “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: ‘For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities nor powers, neither things present nor things to come, neither height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8: 35-39
- “In Him you also, after hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and after believing in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1: 13-14
- “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.” Psalm 91:4-7 NIV
- “But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.” 2 Thessalonians 3:3 MEV
- “Let your lives be without love of money, and be content with the things you have. For He has said: ‘I will never leave you, nor forsake you.’ So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?’” Hebrews 13:5-6 MEV
- “Have not I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 MEV
- “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23:1-6 MEV
- “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, ho, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so w they will be like his glorious body.” Philippians 3:20-21 NIV
- “For Christ did not enter holy places made with hands, which are patterned after the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.” Hebrews 9:24 MEV
